
Catherine Jane Ford was born on 5th December 1969. She is an English actress and comedian. Her performance in The Catherine Tate Show, a BBC sketch comedy series has won her numerous awards. Tate was nominated for seven BAFTAs and an International Emmy Award. Tate played Donna Noble in Doctor Who's Christmas special 2006. Then she reprised her role as the Tenth Doctor's frequent companion on the fourth season. [2] After The Catherine Tate Show's success, Tate played Joanie Taylor ("Nan") on the BBC One comedy series Catherine Tate's Nan (2009-2015) as well as in The Nan Movie (2022). In the year 2011, Tate began a recurring role as Nellie Bertram on the U.S. version of The Office as well as an ongoing character until the show was cancelled. Tate portrayed the role of Miss Sarah Postern (2013-2014), and Magica de Spell (2017-2021) in the BBC One sitcom Big School. Tate was one of six characters she played in Hard Cell, a Netflix comedy series that she co-wrote together with her husband.
